Put Your Stock in God; He's Never in a Recession

Hello people!

I actually forgot today's date earlier today. One day after the fourth of July, and I'm like, "Wait, what's today?" *shakes head* I'm just slow like that, lol.

Anywho, I went out with my parents to Borders books today and got two more books, lol. One of them, I've already read; Macbeth, obviously by Shakespeare. I love it so much that I really wanted to buy it, and my mom offered to get it for me, so I accepted. I also got a philosophy book that was on sale, which is quite an interesting read thus far.

Oh, and we got coffee and let me tell you, it was delicious. I think it was Seattle's Best, which I hear sucks, but if it's in what we got today (which were frozen drinks), it can't be that bad. Our drinks ruled. Um, and this was prolly the best Borders I've ever been to; it was huge and loverly, but not so big that you could get lost in it. And jeezus, there are so many fantastical books out there to read, I feel like there's not enough time for them all.

So, after that, we went to an unknown (crappy) pizza place about half an hour from our house. It sucked. Well, my food sucked. I got a meatball sandwich and it had chunky tomato sauce and onions, which I hate with the white hot instensity of a thousand suns. But my dad said the pizza rocked, so that's good, I guess.

Next, I forced my parents to finally take me to the thrift store, which I've been wanting to do since we got home from Maine. I found three awesome ties, a splendiferous slate-gray suit, and a cute blue, button-down t-shirt. And it cost me a total of $10. WHOOO! BARGAIN SHOPPING=FTW!

If you know me, you know I'm an Atheist, so you may be wondering, "WTF is up with the title?" Well, there's this church about a minute and a half down the road from my house that puts up amusing signs, like...every other months, usually. They put up the new one, "put your stock in God; he's never in a recession." I may be an Atheist, but I can totally appreciate the humor and found this sign quite amusing, lol. So, yeah. X]

I finally made up the wedding invitations for mine and bigfish05's wedding, so here it is!

Photobucket

I convinced both of my parents to start up their own LJ accounts and do what I do; use them as a diary/journal and record the day's events. It totally helps me with writing and other things, and I think it would really help them, so they're both up for it! YAYZ! The only thing is, I can't add them, lol, cuz I post some pretty inappropriate stuff here and I don't want them reading it. XD

Love y'all - Mira/Doc/Kat *meow*

P.S. Have you done this week's picspam challenge yet? DO IT!

Nope nope. Um...we should register at Barnes and Noble, LOL. That'd be awesome. XD But no, we're not registered anywhere.

You should register at a fic comm, so people will write you fics for wedding gifts!

:-D And I'm sure I'd be able to write something, too! (Although, should I require a beta, someone else would have to do it XD)
Living in the Age of Colbertius[info]colbertobsessed on July 6th, 2008 02:42 am (UTC)
LOL! WHOO! That'd be completely awesome! XD Oh, hey, speaking of, did you ever send me your story? Just checking, cuz if you did, it might've gone in my spam folder, and if it did, I'll go check.
The MyFace[info]fenellaevangela on July 6th, 2008 02:49 am (UTC)
Anything to celebrate such a joyous occaision! It might even be wedding themed ;-)

Ooh, I hadn't thought of checking if you got it! Yeah, it must have gotten lost a long the way - probably your spam folder 'cause I didn't get any 'failure to deliver' notices. Oops. So your spam-filter thinks 'beta' is a suspicious word, eh? ;-)

Ooooh Ooooh Ooooh... what philosophy book?

Sigh.. I have that problem, too... too many books, too little time.
Two best marquees I've ever seen?
(1) (on a church) "Don't let worries kill you. Let the church help."
(2) (on the welcome to Niceville sign in my hometown) "Crisis line needs help."

Hehe! A random one. It's called, "50 Philosophy Ideas You Really Need to Know" (not the catchiest title) by Ben Dupre.

Yep yep yep.

LMFAO! Those rule. XD

I haven't come across that one yet. You'll have to tell me how it is.
That's got me pondering... *what* 50 ideas?
*goes off to compile a list*
Living in the Age of Colbertius[info]colbertobsessed on July 7th, 2008 02:09 am (UTC)
Will do. LOL! XD It's basically pitching a buncha random philosophical ideas about life. Like, one of 'em is Descartes' "I think, therefore, I am." Another one is the veil of perception. I've only read about...six of 'em so far, but I'll letcha know if they get awesome, LOL.
