Writer's Block: Forbidden Reading
Hello people!

From Judy Blume to V.C. Andrews, there's always a book circulating among teens that their parents don't want them to read. What favorite book did you have to hide from your parents?

View 503 Answers

Well, there's one book I didn't really want my parents to know too much about, and that's Wigfield. The front cover alone is bad enough (it shows a sign for a strip-club, lol), but one of the first interviews in the book is a stripper who reads her diary, where she describes sexual activities, including using dildos at a party, LOL.

Yeah, I def didn't want my parents to know much about that one. Though mom did see me reading it and I read her a certain part that I thought was funny (the beginning, when he's talking about the lines on the road and if they were morse code, they'd be "A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A" and how he got up at the crack of lunch or some such nonsense, lol) and she was amused by that.

Oh, and porn, of course. Online only, but that's a reason I'm so protective of my computer; I don't want my rents snooping and finding porn stashed away in my favorites or fics I've posted here that may contain pornographicness, lol. I've set my history to clear automatically every day, just incase.

I'd Like to Check Out That Meme, Please

Hello people!

GAH! BOOK MEME! Snurtched from

[info]roseganymede.

1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people, and acknowledge who tagged you.

Jurassic Park, page 123: Wu tried to think of another way to press his case. But the fact was that, after five long years, Jurassic Park was nearing completion, and John Hammond just wasn't listening to him any more. There had been a time when Hammond listened to Wu very attentively.

I'm gonna do this for another book, too, cuz COME ON! THIS MEME IS MADE OF CRAZY WIN!

Wigfield, page 123 (while Russell Hokes interviews himself):
ME: Why don't you want to talk about it?
ME: This interview is over!
ME: Is it? Why do you carry the receipt to a storage locker located in Canton?

This was fun. FUN. I might do this one again in a while. WHOO! :D I tag EVERYBODY!

The Next Time He Opens That Cock Holster He Calls a Mouth...

Hello people!

I was woken up at 9:00-ish this morning. I really hate getting up before, like, 10:00 during the summer. But today was for a good reason; I went with my mom to her appointments. She had four of them, but she dropped me off at home before the fourth one, which was at 6:30.

Anywho, my mom got me some delicious coffee and some lunch and then went to her noon o'clock appointment. The guy that she was pitching to at that one didn't actually live in the house he was getting an estimate for - yet. So, he and my mom had their meeting outside. Leaning against the car. It was kinda comical to me, in a way, though I don't really know why.

During her appointment, I listened to the radio a little, but mostly, I listened to my audio-book, "Wigfield." You may remember that I ordered "Wigfield" (the audio-book) way back in March for my trip to D.C. for Presidential Classroom. Well, as it turns out, I never actually listened to it. Not once since I bought it, have I listened to it.

So I brought it with me today and listened to two and a half out of four CD's. Let me tell you, it was frakkin' hilarious. Dirty and inappropriate and racist (and SO SWC-esque, surrsly) but in the best way ever. In fact, that's where the title of this post came from (of course). Burchal Sawyer, one of the town's three mayors, is complaining about Fleet Hollinger (another one of the mayors), and he says, "The next time he [Fleet] opens that cock holster he calls a mouth I'm gonna slap his head off his shoulders." Page 52. BUY IT.

Moving on...my mom had a 2:00 appointment that she was able to move up to 1:10-ish. So, she went to that one (which lasted over an hour and a half - *guh*), and it got frakkishly hot then. We went to a dinky convenience store to get something cold to drink when mom was done with her appointment, but they didn't have anything good (I really wanted iced tea, and they didn't have any).

Mom had one more appointment that I was going to with her, and that was sposed to be at 4:00, but was then bumped up to, like, 3:30-ish (maybe a little earlier...). This one was terrible. OMG, so bad. I was in the car, but I got the deets and saw some bad things myself. Allow me to extrapolate...

The woman that mom was meeting was this skinny, blonde, late 20's-early 30's woman with two or three kids. So, firstly, the kids sprayed cleaner in their dogs face. I mean, jeezus, how much of a sadistic little brat do you have to be?! They looked like they were old enough to know not to do something like that. Six or seven, maybe.

Then, some brunette woman came over and picked up one of her kids, who, apparently, came over for a play date or something. Mom has these flags that she's sposed to put out in the yard to mark where the wire will go when the installers come out. For some reason, mom left the flags (like, 30 of them) out on the stoop at this lady's house when she went inside to conduct the meeting.

The woman's kids went outside to play. One of them scurried off somewhere (maybe went on a bike ride? I dunno) and the other one played with mom's flags. He threw them down the stairs and was bending some of them. I was watching from the car parked by the curb (cuz, ya know, I can't go into the appointment with mom, it's work!), and I was getting really pissed off. So I opened the car door and got out and stood there, staring at the kid for a minute. The kid saw me staring at him, threw the flags down onto the stoop, and ran to the back of the house.

Logically, I got back in the car. All of a sudden, the kid comes zooming around the corner on a scooter and drives down the sidewalk and doesn't come back. I watched the kid go then forgot about him, went back to listening to "Wigfield." The mother came out fifteen or so minutes later, obviously frazzled. I got outta the car and she was like, "Did you see him?" and I said, "He went that way." and pointed down the street. She went down that way, leaving my mom alone in her house. How crazy unprofessional is that?

I mean, I get that she was having some problems, but she left my mom alone! Mom was trying to WORK there, give a damn presentation, and the woman ran off. Couldn't she at least have locked her kids in their rooms or something?! I mean, jeez, show some responsibility for your kids. Surrsly.

That was about it, really. Mom came out about two hours later (the presentation shouldn't take more than an hour, normally), and we went to get some iced coffee before going home. Mom had another appointment, but it was literally 30-ish seconds from our house, so that was nice. But ZOMG, she was there for three hours! She got into talking with them and didn't get home til 9:32. She's like that sometimes, and it can get really annoying (especially when we pause Hell's Kitchen for HALF AN HOUR). *shakes head*

Hell's Kitchen was amazingly great tonight. The service was fantastic (even though Chef Ramsay got burned twice) and Petrozza, Cori, and Christina got really tight. Petrozza is such a sweetheart, he's so nice to everyone, I really hope he wins. In the beginning of this season, like, five or so episodes in, he considered quitting and going home! And now he's in the top three! How awesome is that? Pretty damn. AND, Jen went home. I've never been so glad to see someone leave in my entire life. *is supre happy*

OMG, I was watching FOX news after Hell's Kitchen and there were some stories that I thought were hilarious. One of them was a "Thong Lawsuit" against Victoria's Secret. I didn't hear the story (the TV was muted and my rents didn't care bout it), but come on, that's a hilarious title for it. Who would take you seriously going into court cuz you have a thong lawsuit? LMFAO.

Another one was about the DNC (Democratic National Convention) and the fact that, and I quote, "pimps and prostitutes are gathering in the streets of Denver." I could *not* stop laughing about that. And they said, "pimps are collecting prostitutes to try to sell their product in Denver" (that one's paraphrased, but still). Product? I don't think I would call it that, lol.

Is it weird that I wanna go to Tim Russert's funeral in Washington, D.C. tomorrow (6/18/08)? I've broken down and cried twice today, about Russert's death. I don't understand why I'm taking it so hard. I really barely even knew of the guy, but surrsly, I feel really sad about it. I'm so strange sometimes, I swear. *shakes head at self*

I was looking at our old Time Magazines and I spotted the "100 Most Influential People" edition. The cover had a collage of pictures of past covers, and one of them was Tim Russert. I got kinda sad and opened it to read the article written on why Russert was picked in the top 100. It was wonderful.

Then I shut the magazine and on the back is a picture of this guy sitting in the back of a limo (I would assume...it's a black backseat of a car) with a Louis Vuitton bag next to him on the seat. Guess who the guy in the backseat was? Mikhail Gorbachev. And I just noticed it. I saw that scar/birth-mark/whatever thing on his head and was like, "ZOMG, I know that guy...Gorbachev?" and the bottom of the page said his name. I flipped and thought of Jen (she *loves* ol' Gorbie, lol). XD

I GOT HARVEY BIRDMAN IN THE MAIL TODAY! <3 I'm so excited to watch 'em. I'm not sure if I should watch a few eps every coupla days to make 'em last (like I did with Supernatural), or plow through 'em all in a day or two (like I did with SWC). I think I'll decide on that tomorrow.

My parents don't think I should stay up late or sleep in during the summer. How made of fail is that? I kinda wanna slap them. I mean, I'm not asking to sleep til noon. I wanna sleep til 10. I think that's reasonable. And I can stay up til, like, 3:00 in the morning and get up the next morning without much of a problem. I'll be kinda tired all day, but I don't have anything to do anyway, so it doesn't matter.

But, for some reason I still don't know, my parents want me to act as if I have a job and get up at 9:00 and go to bed by 1:00. They've gotta be kidding, right? I mean, it's summer. There's a reason we don't have school for three-ish months. We're sposed to be on a break here, and now my parents want me to stick to a stupid schedule and look into getting work (which I planned on doing anyway, but I really hate being told to do something repetitively [sp?] so much that it makes me not wanna do something). It doesn't matter; I'm staying up late anyway. Screw them.

Ooh! I found this awesome song thanks to Carlkr on YouTube called, "I Kissed a Girl" by Kate Perry. It's amazing. I didn't think it'd be very good, but HOLY MOO, I frakkin *love* this song now! I'm gonna try to download it, cuz I really love it. Have a listen, surrsly.

Holy shit, that was a really long entry. Um...sorry bout that...there's a meme coming, too...wow. My apologies! Cookies for you, if you stuck it out through this whole damn thing, lol! *hands over huge cookie platter*

P.S. If you like that icon I used tonight, it's based on a comic made by sailorptah that is TOTALLY AWESOME. It can be found here. I snagged the strip and made a little icon cuz I *loved* it so mucho. It was adorable. So, yeah. *crediting* XD

I Don't Ramble, I Make Noise With a Purpose
Hello people!

Today was pretty good until about 7:58 PM. So, let's address the happy build-up, shall we?

I slept in a little again today, which was nice. Then I chilled in my room, ate some yogurt, and watched Spongebob. It was one of my faves, too - the one with the magic pencil and Doodlebob, and with Plankton winning Spongebob as his frycook in a card-game against Mr. Crabs. It's so funny, I love that one.

So, then, I listened to a little bit of the interview Stephen Colbert did with his warm-up comedian, Pete, on Pete's show, "Pete's Big Mouth," which is on an Indie Rock station (I think) on SIRIUS radio. Stephen is so adorkably cute and hilarious. Even his swearing is adorable. He said, "fuckers." And it was just so cute. I know, I'm ridiculous, LOL.

Mom took me to get coffee from Speedway, and it was DELICIOUS. Surrsly, they have the best damn coffee I've ever fucking had, lol. It took me about an hour and a half to drink it, lol, but still, SO GOOD. It totally made my day. And my mom and I were early getting to school, so we chilled in the parking lot and listened to music in the car and sang along to the songs together.

Math was confusing, man. Logarithms are stupid, if you ask me. Chem was really lame - we're working on group project shit and it's the dumbest crap ever - my group and I didn't even do anything. We just sat and chatted today. AP Euro was whatever. Mr. Nickel had us do this packet thing, and he was like, "Finish this for Monday" and I said (under my breath, of course), "HA, yeah right."

German was okay - that sub we had was kinda weird, though. We obviously weren't doing anything, and he said nothing until he came up behind S'Michael, who was actually doing SOMETHING related to the project, and was like, "Um, I'm pretty sure Facebook doesn't have to do with your project" or something like that. I mean, jeez, man, you obviously aren't a German guy, just let us laze around like we do when we have subs. SURRSLY.

Brit Lit was whatever. Mrs. Creek read us the Diary of...somebody Pepys, lol, I don't recall his first name. But it was funny! He was talkin bout how he and his wife had a fight and she tried to burn him with hot tongs from the fireplace, LOL! So hilarious. And something I found really amusing was that there was a Great Fire of London that happened in 1666 and it happened on "The Lord's Day." How amusing is that? I guess you'd have to be an atheist to see the humor in that, haha.

Creative Writing was...well, we had a sub and she told us to work but nobody did, lol. So, yeah.

I brought a book to school today that I recently started reading called, "Atheist Universe" by David Mills. It's very good so far, I must say. I thought it would be...I dunno, overly phosisticated or too hard to understand or something, but it's VERY interesting and actually, quite amusing. I really love it. And I showed a religious friend of mine the book and she was like, "Oh, it sounds interesting" (and she actually meant it, lol). And some other friends 'o' mine wanted to borrow the book to read it. I was AMAZED, really. I thought for sure that people would...I dunno...shun me or something for having a book like that, but nobody said anything mean or anything! YAY! XD

Damn, man, Jerry Revish and Andrea Cambern on 10TV Eyewitness News look AMAZERING tonight! Jerry is wearing a black suit with an electric blue undershirt and a powder blue tie. He looks SO GOOD! And Andrea's waering a black turtleneck with a gray-ish-black blazer. She looks really great, too! I'm just surprised - I mean, they always look really good, but tonight they look fantastic! :D Just thought I'd mention that, lol.

That's about it. Oh, Eli Stone was good last night! The Dr. Agon (i.e. DRAGON) thing was awesome. And Reaper was FANTABULOUS! I really missed that show. OMG, LA Ink was SO GOOD! Pixie was such a bitch about having to do her work, but Kat totally should've taken her in the back room to talk to her, not berading her in front of the rest of the shop. She's just NOT the business owner type. I don't think she can handle the actual boss position without being a bitch about it.

I got "Wigfield" on CD today, so I was pretty damn excited when I got the mail, lol! I LOVE that book. It's so funny, I'm totally gonna listen to some tomorrow. I'm STOKED for it, LOL!

Love y'all - Mira/Doc/Kat *meow*

Everyone Makes Mistakes...Except Me
Hello people!

I watched TV mostly today. There wasn't much on, but I found junk to watch, lol. I always do.

I *did* have to do a little work (print some stuffs, write a 1-2 page paper) for that Iowa Young Writers Studio thing, but I got it done pretty fast, so s'all good, lol. I was sposed to do some Chem stuff, but I completely forgot about it, so I'll just do it tomorrow. I didn't have Math homework, anyway, so I'll have all study hall to get it done. Yay! :]

Prison Break season finale is on tonight. Sadness. And how does FOX kick it off? By having the damn show glitch and be all pixely during the first five or six minutes. HELLO! This is a freaking finale! Y'all need to be on top of things. *shakes head*

Well, mom and I didn't go to Barnes & Noble today. To be expected, lol. Mom and dad kinda worked all day. They had some free time, but my dad painted some boards, and my mom called people. Blah.

Speaking of my dad painting, it smells SO BAD. It's giving me a huge headache. *ugh*

I made a group on Facebook that I'd LOVE for you (guys) to join if you have Facebook accounts! :]

HECK YES! Vantage Point comes out on Friday! MUST GO SEE IT! :D And I think 21 comes out on Friday, too!

I was up super late about a week ago and was watchin videos on YouTube, and I came across a GREAT one from MadTV with Bunifa Latifa Halifa Sharifa Jackson. Wanna laugh? Watch this:

And if you're a "Wigfield" fan (like me), check out these vids of Julian Childs, Raven, and Dillard Rankin (three of the townspeople, two are played by Paul Dinello, one by Stephen Colbert):

Julian Childs: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvT0_dhfHSY]]
Raven: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JD6dfSCkbk]]
Dillard Rankin: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LL5Jaf5z7hI]]

Sorry bout the poor quality for those; someone obviously recorded them as a guest there and did not do a good job. I think it's blatantly apparent who my fave is, but incase you don't know, I'll tell you; Raven! Who, btw, is played by Stephen, and that picture that it shows at the beginning, of a woman? That's Stephen. Can you believe that? I was SHOCKED when I found that out. He was waxed and plucked and make-up-ed like crazy for that picture. If you want another look at that picture, here ya go:

Was that extensively boring enough? OOH! One more thing. ;] Jeopardy was GREAT tonight! I knew a lot of the answers, lol. So, yay! :]

Momma Left Me Cuz of Your Advice!
Hello people!

As I said I would yesterday, I continued my Strangers With Candy marathon today. I'm almost done. So sad! I'll have to re-re-watch it in a few weeks. XD

That's pretty much all I did today. I ate some food, talked to my rents a little, chatted with my bro, and watched SWC all day. This'll prolly be the shortest entry I've done in a while.

Uh...oh, Jon Stewart will be on Larry King Live on Wednesday, talking about how he's hosting the Oscars and whatnot (on CNN). I'm stoked for that! And the Oscars are a week from today, for those of you that don't know already.

I gotta watch some Daily Shows and Colbert Reports tomorrow - I've got two weeks worth on the DVR, lol. And I think my mom and I are goin to Barnes & Noble, so I dunno how I'm gonna get all that done, but whatevs.

OMG, the tornado warning for Champaign and Clark counties FREAKED me out. I'm so deathly freaking afraid of tornadoes. *shudders* Glad it passed, though.

I desperately want "Wigfield" on CD (audio-book). Stephen Colbert is Russel Hokes, the main character, which means he'd be reading most of the book. Hello? That's awesome. X] So, yeah, I really wanna get it, but it's, like, $20 and I don't have any cash. I'm hopin mom will get it for me for when I go to Presidential Classroom and I can listen to it on the bus ride to Washington.

Oh, yeah, I'm taking the bus. I can't fly and my parents can't drive me at an early enough time, so I'm takin the bus. I'm actually pretty excited, even though it's kinda dangerous. I've always liked buses, and I think I'll have fun, just sittin by myself all day.

Nothing in My Life Ever Came With a Guarantee
Hello people!

LOL, OMG, House was SO FUNNY. Although I HATE Cut-Throat-Bitch, I quite enjoyed tonight's ep. I LOVED the House/Wilson moments, lol. It was so adorable. XD I really loved the restaurant scene. "Oh my god...you're sleeping with me." I can't get over that line. It was so freaking HILARIOUS.

American Idol was amusing. That guy with the really-high-pitched girl voice was so funny! But I totally loved that someone FINALLY sang, "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen (that was the first guy that they made turn around). It was prolly the bombinest thing ever; I LOVE that song, and I've never heard anyone sing it (nor have I met someone that knows of it), so it thrilled me to hear it, lol. Plus, he did a pretty good job.

LA Ink is on now. LOVE this show. So great. Kat's kinda stupid and slutty, but I love her anyway, lol. And this show is just so fun. X]

OH! I wanna say a quick THANKS MUCHO to Jen for showing me this AWESOME community with cute little House parody-type comics. They're HILARIOUS! If you wanna see 'em, go here:

Okay, let's see. Oh, AP Euro test tomorrow. Ready for a shocker? I didn't study. ;] Since when do I ever study, lol? Exactly. Um...oh, I totally BS-ed that story (last night) that was due today, and I got a 14 outta 15. HECK YES. That's pretty damn good for the piece of crap I put out, if ya ask me, lol. I figured I'd get a lower grade; it was total crap.

I finished my book today! I read all of "Wigfield!" It's the first time I've finished an entire book in, like, a year! :D So I'm pretty happy. It was so good. Hilariously offensive, and I loved every second of it. I just might read it a second time. After I read some of the other books I wanna read, lol. If you wanna get Wigfield (which I HIGHLY suggest), go here:

My next creative writing assignment is developing a literary technique, and I actually have an idea! I got half my pre-writing done today! :D I'm super excited, lol. Specially since it's not due til Friday, so I still have PLENTY 'o' time to work on it.

I'll address the AP Euro test tomorrow, lol.
