Writer's Block: Untimely Passing
Hello people!

RIP John Lennon. The list of sudden and unexpected celebrity deaths is long—Princess Di, Heath Ledger, Kurt Cobain, Marilyn Monroe, and many more. Which one affected you the most on an emotional level?

Soooo many this past year. I think Bernie Mac. I wasn't, like, a hardcore fan of his. But I really did love his show (The Bernie Mac Show, lol) and used to watch it ALL THE TIME when I was younger. And he was so fantastic in the Oceans movies. He was a hilarious man, a very smart man, and a great actor, and he is definitely missed. <3

I do have to say another, though. Michael Crichton. He was my HERO (with regard to writing, of course). He was brilliant and amazing and always had controversial ideas for his books. He started conversations, he got criticism, but most importantly, he defended what he believed to be right (see: trial and State of Fear). He revolutionized writing and he passed far too soon. <3

I Didn't See Any Banana Peels in Your Garbage Last Night...
Hello people!

So, Stephen won for writing, Jon won for series. Their bit was pricelessly un-subtle and Stephen eating? Little is better than that. I believe it was quite a good night for the boys. <3

The "in memoriam" montage made me cry. Tim Russert and Bernie Mac especially. Both deaths really hit me hard, even though neither was all that important to me.

Don Rickles isn't very funny, imo. I don't think he should've won. But whatevski. At least the boys won something. Why do they keep pitting Stephen against these freakishly old legends? It's rigged.

But the whole Gervais/Carell/Jon/Stephen thing was hilarious. Technically, Jon/Stephen weren't really big in it, but ya know, they had a small supporting role. ;]

Overall, fairly good night.

I'm an Ordinary Guy With an Extraordinary Job

Hello people!

Today was god-awful. I wish it had never started. Let's start with me getting up.

I woke up at 8:30 today cuz I had to take a shower and get ready to go to Volunteer Training, which was at 10:30 (and I totally spaced on last night). The day started out nice, cuz I had about an hour and a half to myself to chill and one of my favorite Spongebob episodes was on - the Snowball Effect. Even my parents love that episode, lol.

I gotta explain something real quick: every now and then, I transfer $10 from my savings into my checking so I can buy something small (an old video game, a movie, a book, etc.). It's really not a big deal, there's still 2000 bucks in my savings. I ended up transferring $30 yesterday, which I didn't mean to do, but what can I say? I did it. The reason I'm telling you all this is because this morning, my parents called me out and lectured me for transferring funds.

I'm not gonna stop, lol, I'll just be more careful next time I transfer a little cash. I mean, I've done it a few times before this and mom never noticed, so *shrugs*. And then, mom must've gone and blabbed to dad what that douchebag Palazzo said about my classes and GPA and whatnot, and dad decided to lecture me for no reason. I get out early this year - two periods - and my parents want me to take AP English, which I don't want to take. Hence my not signing up for the fucking class. So now they're gonna lecture me again tomorrow, when we talk about college. *SIGH*

Oh, and my mom told me (for about the eight-hundredth time) that I'm not good enough. I'm so sick of hearing that. And I told my parents that it really hurts when they say that to me, but I dunno if they're gonna stop. I really hope they do. Anywho, after that, I had to go to the stupid Volunteer Training thing. We didn't do anything there. Someone talked to us, we walked around the building, that was it. So that was a nice waste of an hour and a half.

My parents picked me up and took me out with them to a furniture store to find a new couch cuz our current one is hideously gross. We went to Wal*Mart, Office Max, and Giant Eagle, as well. I got school supplies, which I love getting, so that was a plus, but I wanted a flash drive, and the cheapest one I could find at Office Max was $24, and dad wouldn't get it for me. *curses* Then we came home.

I can't believe Bernie Mac is dead. I really liked him, he was so funny and clever and I used to *love* The Bernie Mac Show. And he's so great in the Ocean movies. He was only 50 years old. There are so many people in the world that deserve to die, and Bernie Mac is definitely not one of those people. He will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Bernie. <3 In honor of such an amusing man, the title of this post is a quote from Mr. Mac.

Yesterday, mom put $40 in my checking, so I ordered a web cam, the second and third Tomb Raider games (for PS1), and "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" from Amazon. I prolly won't get them for a week (fuck, maybe longer), but I'm looking forward to them coming in the mail. Speaking of mail, I didn't get the latest issue of Time, which we always get on Saturday...I'm a little pissed about that cuz, well, I love reading the damn thing.

Don't forget to join the Meme Day community and clear your plans for next Saturday! I told my parents about it this afternoon and they have given me the entire day off so I can run Meme Day, and I'm crazy stoked for it.

So, anyway, after all the shit that happened today, I'm going to bed early tonight. We're watching Ocean's Eleven in memoriam of Bernie Mac and then Nick and I are gonna play Tomb Raider (teh first), the rents are gonna make finger-food for dinner, and then I'm going to sleep.
