Hello people!
PUMPKIN FESTIVAL DAY OMG!!!
I was woken up at 6:30-ish this morning and immediately took my shower. I got dressed and ready to go and we left the house at 8:30. I got to ride in the back of dad's van, cuz there weren't any other seats. It was cool, I laid down with the pumpkins and fell asleep (eventually). Mom bought us breakfast (I had two hashbrowns and Diet Coke), and we listened to our burned CDs of Brian Regan and Dane Cook and whatnot.
It was SO MUCH FUN. I love our comedy CDs. <3 We got to the festival about an hour earlier than planned - around 11:00. Hannah, Colby (Nick's friends) and Nick went their own way, while mom, dad and I walked around together. We agreed to meet up at 4:00 later on. We were hungry, so we stopped at this little "family-style" restaurant. I got chicken nuggets, which weren't that good, but the fries were amazing!
And they had home-made rolls that were so delicious! After that, we walked around and just popped into whatever stores we passed. There was a chocolate shop that had some yummy-looking candy; I got two swiss mocha chocolates (or something like that...). They were pretty good. I bought a Pumpkin Fest t-shirt and mom got an ornament and mug. We checked out a lot of jewelry stands, but nothing looked good.
Also, they were kinda on the expensive side this year. *shrugs* Meh. S'not like I had a crapload of money to spend anyway. I got this awesome snack called a Bloomin' Apple, which is like the Bloomin' Onion at Outback, but it's an apple (obviously) covered in melted caramel. MMM, so good. We pretty much saw everything by 3:00 and met up with the rest of the gang early.
We decided to stop in at the movie theater in town, where they play cartoons for free all day. We watched Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner cartoons for two hours. Next, we got hot dogs and hamburgers, then chilled til 6:30-ish, when the sky got dark and the pumpkins were lit. We went over to ours and took pictures and video. Everyone kept commenting on mine and dad's. :} It was AWESOME. <333
In fact, a guy came up and commented on mine, and Colby said, "She carved it," and pointed to me. The guy was like, "That's amazing! You should win a prize for that." I laughed, and then he said the title of this post, which tickled me, lol. Yeah, it was fun. :] At about 7:30, we finally went on home. We all slept in the car for a bit and got home around 10:00. I made myself a waffle and some sausage cuz I was still hungry.
Dad and I talked about Green Mountain and how he would understand and support me if I found a two-year school that I'd rather attend. I explained that I hate how it feels like all I'm doing is busy-work and I'm not learning anything, and that I know most schools are like that, rather than being about learning. He said he completely understands how I feel about Green Mountain (and most other colleges, really).
So, yeah, I think next year, I'm gonna find a different school and finish out there. It's hard to explain, but it really feels like college is a waste of time. It's not about learning, ya know? They just want us to do paper after paper, all of which mean nothing, and they're not really teaching me. Whatever, I'll worry about it later. I'm gonna put up my Pumpkin Fest vids tonight, but I'll be doing a picspam tomorrow.
