If Karen Dies, I'll Totally Call You
Hello people!

Ugh, it was tough getting to sleep last night for both mom and me. Mom finally allowed me to put the TV on, which I was super grateful for; I always fall asleep with my TV on just cuz it's comforting for some reason. Sure enough, I fell asleep pretty quick after that. We woke up at 6:00 again, though, and the alarm was set for 6:30. Mom came over to my bed and snuggled with me for a bit.

Then she went and got ready and I watched TV for half an hour. We went downstairs and got breakfast and then we went back to the room pretty quick. Mom explained to me that she has to use this new technique she'd never used before for work called, "Mirroring." It goes a little something like this, "If it wasn't for the revolution..." "Revolution?" or "But what about the Pentagon?" "Pentagon?"

I told mom that Solid Snake does that all the time in MGS, so I started a new game and quickly played to the DARPA Chief part, where Snake particularly does a lot of mirroring. She watched it and laughed and was like, "See? It really works!" And she's right, it did work. So YAY! I told her if she gets nervous (cuz she had to role-play this technique at the seminar) to just think of Snake and smile. :]

I spent the next hour playing while mom checked emails and stuff for work and then she left. I took a shower and relaxed for a while. I watched the same line-up of shows I watched yesterday. Title of this post is from Will and Grace. At noon, I walked over to Wendy's, which was a bit of a trek, but it was worth it. I got chicken nuggets and a Frosty. MMM delicious. When I got back, I chilled and watched more TV.

Last night, I got a pounding headache. It went away by the time I went to bed, but today, it came back around 2:00 today. I laid down in the hopes that maybe just not thinking or doing anything would help my head feel better. I wound up falling asleep til 4:00. It was nice to sleep, but it, unfortunately, didn't make my headache go away. I also started my monthly curse today, so I'm feeling blah-y.

Mom's back and we're gonna go to Olive Garden tonight! :D There's one about a mile away from here! <3 We're also gonna stop at Target to pick up a few things that we need and...I think there's somewhere else we're gonna go...but I don't really remember where. Um, so, that's about it. We're just gonna chill when we get back, maybe go to bed early.

Don't Call Me "Mr. T."
Hello people!

Dreams, Geoffrey. I had a dream that I was Solid Snake (for the mothereffin win, lol) and my mission was to find a bunch of lost Disney characters (yes, Disney). Kinda like Kingdom Hearts, but ya know, not. XD Anywho, I found this big house where this jackass guy was keeping all the Disney characters. I went up to them and hugged them and told them I was there to save them.

The guy spotted me, but then Pluto - the dog, lol - (I think?) blew out the electricity, so the guy couldn't see me. I couldn't see him, either, but my eyes adjusted slowly and I watched the guy storm by and through the rest of the house, heading for the breaker. Another character was trying to get me caught, so I started panicking and hid. Then I woke up - to the sound of Taco barking his head off.

It was 9:30, and I still had another half hour before I had to get up. Taco wouldn't STFU, so I went out to the foyer, picked up the dog and shut him in the bathroom. I think he went to sleep cuz he was quiet til 10:00. I went back to sleep and had a short dream. In my dream, I went out to the garage and noticed that there were a bunch of boxes packed up. It was sprinkling and dad was frantic.

The moving sale had been canceled. Then I actually woke up at 9:55. I got dressed and went straight outside to help out with the sale. That's pretty much all we did today. A couple of my things sold (I made $2.50, lol) and a decent amount of teh rents' stuff sold. We've still got a shitload, though. Blah. Um, mom brought us home fast food around noon, which was yummy, lol.

At 2:00, it started to rain, so we packed everything into the garage and went inside. I've just been watching Full House, where the title of this post is from Mom's got a hair appointment at 5:00, hence my doing this so early - I'm going with her. After the appointment, we're gonna go to Panera for dinner. :D (Okay, I need a filler sentence here, so filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler.)

Ahem. Anywho, I'm so glad you guys are excited about this Top Secret Project I'm doing. :] I hope I don't disappoint, lol. I'm nervous about it. Speaking of, I need those drabbles as absolutely SOOOOOOOON as possible, even if you're not a fanfic writer. Please please please and thanks! <333 Also, if you wanna submit a character/actor still, you can do so for the next two days.

The end.

We Managed to Avoid Drowning!
Hello people!

Whoa, I can't believe it's 6:30, I totally lost track of time today! :O

Um, oh, so, I had a dream last night where I went to dinner with my parents. I dunno why, but we took a limo there. We were gonna meet up with my (deceased) Grandpa D. and a friend of his. For some reason, I was hesitant to go inside, so I stayed in the limo for 58 minutes (yes, exactly 58 minutes). When Grandpa D. and his friend pulled up at about 10:00, I decided I'd stay.

I went inside, where teh rents were waiting, and we met up with Grandpa D. and his friend and all sat down at the counter (like a bar, sans alcohol, lol). Apparently, teh rents and I had already eaten dinner, so Grandpa D. and his bud bought us ice cream instead. It was GOOD. Then mom and dad and I were suddenly in a GameStop and I found a Solid Snake action figure.

I grabbed a ton of others – Psycho Mantis, Revolver Ocelot, etc. – and intended to buy them with my own money. Then I found little mini!board-games, which I used to get for holidays all the time. They're adorable!  There was one that said Jeopardy on the front, but the contents included little chess pieces and a chess board, so I put it back. I think other stuff happened, but that's all I remember.

I woke up at 10:30-ish and spent the next half hour on my computer. The day kinda switched off between lazing around and working. I did the dishes and made myself a sandwich. Then I went to my room and played a little MGS2. Nick joined me a bit later and we played our saved game together. We brought some garbage and some crappy boxes outside to the curb and played with the kitten.

"The Lost World" was on after all that, so I watched the last hour of it. I just realized today that the movie is COMPLETELY different from the book. It's like they totally disregarded the book and just wrote a new story. It's actually incredibly lame and depressing, when I think about it. I've spent the past two hours reading "Jurassic Park," "The Lost World" and Michael Crichton trivia on IMDB.

Title of this post is from MGS2. Raiden says it to the Colonel after swimming through a certain area. It just seems hilarious to me, lol. OH! So, Nick stumbled across this broadcast online (on justin.tv, similar to blogtv) where this guy was playing MGS. He talked to the guy and did his Solid Snake impression, and the guy LOVED it. Now Nick sometimes joins in on the broadcast.

He does his Snake impression and joins the convos and such! Here's the thing: if the guy gets more viewers and subscribers and stuff, he's gonna start paying his partners (i.e., Nick). SOOOO, I'm spreading the word about the broadcast. It's on late at night, so if you stay up super late, check it out. Nick's not on every night, but still. If you like whatcha see, pass this link around, please! :]

I decided last night that I'd like to keep a blog that my parents can read while I'm at college, but I don't want it to be this one, for blatantly obvious reasons. I made a new one here on LJ - except it's not a separate account, it's a comm. That way, I don't have to log out every day just to log back in. If you wanna join, you can, but it's just gonna be a PG version of this blog, lol. --> [info]miradoxical.

Um, yeah. Oh, oh, I did two more drawings last night; Liquid/Meryl and Ocelot/Meryl. I don't like the second one very much - Meryl looks kinda off and Ocelot looks wayyyy too young, but oh well. I'm starting my birth control pills tonight. :} I'm kinda nervous; I hope I don't have any of the crappy side-effects, like nausea for the first 1-3 packs...The Next Food Network Star is on tonight! :D WHOOT!

That Led Him to a Painful Decision: Hitler or Pancakes?
Hello people!

For the first time ever, I, Miranda Doerfler, beat Metal Gear Solid on normal ALL BY MYSELF. I've been having a "nerdgasm," if you will, since I did so last night. I even made a short video documenting it, lol, cuz I was so excited.

Ahem. I stayed up last night reading awesomely adorable MGS comics from this woman right hurr. I also attempted to draw my own Solid Snake and Hal (Otacon) & Dave (Snake) doodles, using that woman's technique. And I think I did a decent job, considering that I usually suck at drawing, lol. I put them up on my deviantART account. Here's Solid Snake and here's Hal & Dave.

I got up at 10:00 today to mom asking me to pack some stuff for her while she's at work. I watched some Divorce Court and drew those doodles til mom left, then started packing around noon. Dad was out in the garage packing stuff there. I spent the afternoon packing kitchen stuff (mugs, plates, etc.) and watching TV. It actually wasn't terrible, I don't mind packing when it's a calm process.

Dad came in around 2:00 and made me some late lunch of chicken fingers (they weren't very good...) and we watched Sabrina together, which the title of this post is from. Then he went back to work in the garage, and I went back to packing. I stopped around 5:00 and, well, here we are. I'm so ridiculously tired, I could go to bed right now. Um...yeah, that's pretty much it. Happy Thursday.

You Should Crawl On the Ground Like the Snake You Are

Hello people!

Okay, so, I spent, like, all evening just chillin here and completely spaced on my post tonight, LOL. Hence the lateness. XD But yeah, at least I got my fic posted! WHOO!

FRIDAY. Like, yay. So, photo, we played a game called, "Survivor," where you write three things about yourself on a piece of paper and then you collect all the papers and pass the stack around for other people to read aloud. Here's the thing: the first one has to be general, but about you (I have brown hair), the second one has to be a bit more narrow, but still about you (I like to write), the last one has to be exclusive to you (I have a blog that I update daily, usually multiple times). It was cool!

Plus, I had a tank-top on today so everyone could see my tats, and the teacher was like, "Look at your tattoos, when did you get those?" I told her, and she said, "And your parents were okay with that?" and I said, "My parents talked me into it." and people laughed, cuz they always do, lol. That was fun.

Then, in math, we just reviewed basic properties (commutative, identity, etc.) from last year. That was dull as hell, dudes. Next, AP Gov. We discussed the reading from last night (I can't spell Montesque...but that was the reading). We had to give a summary and response of that, and seriously, my handwriting is somewhat big, but thin, and my paper was only a page long, with a couple spaces in-between.

You should have SEEN other people's papers! They had teeny writing and were, like, an entire, completely filled-in page. It was RIDICULOUS! I feel really stupid in that class. *sadface* Moving on. Forensics was okay. We just did notes today, but we discussed, ya know, evidence and stuff. That was cool. XD I can't wait til we actually do something, LOL! It shall be awesome.

MindCandy is a really fun class. I love it. We read some poetry today, but it wasn't overly dull, so that was good. And Mr. Robbins said that over the summer he read all of Michael Crichton's books!!! Since I pretty much LOVE Michael Crichton, I got really excited. We talked about books a bit and then we talked about The Dark Knight (have yet to see it!) and the let-down that were the Spiderman movies (especially the 3rd one) and we talked about religion. Mr. Robbins is reading "God Is Not Great" (I should check it out) and we talked about Atheism and religion in general. It was really calm and comfortable and I LOVED it.

I asked a friend for a ride to NewGrounds (the cafe down the street) after fifth period, and I waited outside, but it occured to me that he was probably eating lunch - I skipped lunch cuz I felt nauseous all day and didn't feel like eating. So I decided to walk to NewGrounds myself. It was fine. Kinda hot, but I was in a tank-top and shorts, so it was better than when I had jeans and a t-shirt on before.

I got a drink and read about 70 pages of my MGS book in the roughly two and a half hours that I was there. Nick came to the cafe with his friend once they got outta school and chatted for half an hour til dad picked us up. We stopped at the store then headed home and pretty much chilled. Cash Cab wasn't on tonight (nor will it be on for the next week! :O), so that depressed us. I think it threw off my night, lol.

Mom wanted to see Metal Gear Solid so I said I'd play it. So now I'm playing! :D And it's my fave game, so YAYZ! Unfortunately, I've been playing and I totally forgot to get the SOCOM in the beginning, which means I got the gun where I was sposed to get the Thermal Goggles, so now I don't have the goddamn Thermal Goggles, which I effing NEED. So, yeah, I'm a tad annoyed. Especially at myself for forgetting to get the gun. *curses self* The title of this post is from MGS; Vulcan Raven says it when he shoots a missile at Snake and Snake falls to the ground.

I'm quite pleased that I got to finish my Jon/Stephen story and post it. I'm really quite proud of it. Uh...that's about it, I guess. I gotta go with mom to Wag Fest tomorrow, which is a dog thingy. I really don't wanna go, but, ya know, I gotta help out mom. Plus, I enjoy helping her, even though I hate dogs, so, yeah. <3

Hal and Dave...That's a Good One...Ha Ha Ha!

Hello people!

Today is an historical day. For today is the day that I (finally) beat Metal Gear Solid for the first time ever! WHOOO! I am really happy I finally played that game. It was freakishly good. And I think I understand the story a bit more now. Only, I realized that I don't actually know anything about the Human Genome project (a *major* plot point in the game), which actually was completed recently, I believe (wasn't it last year?). So now I really wanna look up whatever I can find on the HG project; I wanna know about it.

Since I spent half the day yesterday and all day today playing MGS, there's really not much else to say, lol. I made some labels for dad and did some chores and that's about it. Oh, Wipeout! was on tonight and it was awesome! The announcers kept calling one of the guys, "ridiculously good-looking," so I dubbed him Zoolander. XD

The Hell's Kitchen season finale is on tonight. GAH, I'm freaked. I really hope Petrozza wins, cuz he's so made of win and he's so nice, but he has that crazy egotistical bitch, Jen, on his team and I have the worst feeling she's gonna ruin it for him intentionally, just cuz she's definitely that coniving (sp?).

I feel bad that my entries are so short lately, lol. It doesn't feel like Tuesday. I dunno why. I know, random.

Oh My God, You Incredible Nerd!

Hello people!

I actually did work today. I hate doing work, lol. I cleaned the bathroom and did the dishes and blahblahblah. My chair has been moved forward in the living room, by, like, four feet, and there's a treadmill where my chair used to be.

Most of you know that I'm pretty OCD about certain things, and one of those things is my seat. In school or at home, I don't want my seat to be touched. Or sat in. Or moved. So the fact that my chair has been moved really bothers me. But there's nothing I can do about it; mother has spoken and she wants the treadmill where it is. *SIGH*

I spent whatever free time I had today in my room, listening to Viva La Vida. And chatting with my loverly fiance, Hannah (bigfish05). I actually spent a decent amount of time on LJ today. Um, so, then, my mom got home and we decided to go to Barnes and Noble.

We chilled there for, like, three-ish hours, I think. I found Lewis Black's newest book, Me of Little Faith. I expected it to be very angry, but it didn't seem like that to me. It seemed...I dunno, but I absolutely loved it. I really wanna buy it; I'll just have to wait til the price goes down from $25!

I also found a book called, Hit List by Lawrence Block. I read the first ten pages of it in the store, and I gotta say, it's pretty good thus far. Not amazering, but I like it. I've got so many books to read, it's crazy. There's this one, then Jen gave me Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None, then there's Crichton's The Lost World, not to mention the stupid Chris Matthews book and that other one I gotta read for AP Gov next year. Grawr. So many books, so little time!

Moving on...we went to World Market after that, and I gotta say, I fucking love that store. It's amazering. I wanna buy, like, half the stuff in that store. I got a wonderful little painting with wine bottles and glasses on it. I love those, but I dunno why. I just love stuff like that. I have another painting with a bottle of wine and a glass. It just strikes me as gorgeous.

Oh! Earlier, we went to Blockbuster and rented Vantage Point and Charlie Bartlett, which I'm supremely excited to see. I'm gonna have to watch them tonight or tomorrow. Anywho...we got some fast food for dinner, which I kinda wish we hadn't done cuz now I don't feel so good, but, oh well.

The title of this post is from Cash Cab. Ben said it to one of the contestants. He just sounded hilarious and cheese, it sounds mean, lol, but it's so not. X] And ZOMG, Ben just made up a word; magmanificent. It wins. And I love my new icon *points*. It's Solid Snake, from Metal Gear Solid. AND he's made of crazy win, so I really love it, lol.

I'm a little pissed at the local monopoly over NBC's broadcasting, because Red, White, and Boom!, which is an event taking place downtown, is being shown for THREE HOURS instead of Last Comic Standing. Going to RWB? That's fine. Watching it on TV? Could that be anymore lame? It's so fail. I really wanna watch LCS. *SIGH*

Did you know that Viacom was trying to sue YouTube video-watchers who were watching copyrighted vids? Isn't that ridiculous?! Luckily, the suit was against Google, and Google told them, basically, to fuck off, so I don't think we have anything to worry about. Check it out for yourself by heading to NoFactZone and scrolling about the front page. Three articles are listed there concerning the whole thing.

Um...I hope it pours down rain. I want the pounding rhythm and the darkness.

Love y'all - Mira/Doc/Kat *meow*

P.S. To quote my favorite villian of all time, "tonight is the fucking night." This is the last night for the pajama picspam challenge, if you don't do it, I'll have to smack you. And an online smacking is HARSH YO. X] So do it. Oh, and if you don't do this one, you're gonna have to do *two* picspams this coming week, lol. AND YOU WILL DO IT. *does Jedi mind-trick* [my picspam challenge my picspam challenge my picspam challenge my picspam challenge]

I Love Boobies, Cuz I'm a Big Kid Now

Hello people!

GAH, my life can be so dull. Pretty much nothing happened today. Um...I got up at 10-ish and did some chores (blah). Um...then, Nick and I decided to play Metal Gear Solid 2.

We love MGS2, but it has its pros and cons. Before I jump into that, lemme first say that holy shit, I forgot how hard/annoying it was. I got lost a lot, lol, and ended up screwing up more than a few times, which pissed me off a bit. Anywho...

Pros:
- awesome graphics
- really cooly weaponry/accessories
- Solid Snake=FTCW (for the crazy win)
- Snake=super hot as Pliskin with that bit of scruff he's got... XD
- great story, but this is where the plotline starts to go downhill among the series

Cons:
- Snake going by "Pliskin?" Hot, but not as cool
- annoying codec moments with Colonel and Rose
- sometimes it's hard to avoid getting seen by the guards
- you have to keep running around among 6 different struts (little room-lets)
- Raiden=the gayest gay that ever gayed, and not in the good way (surrsly, he's so nowhere near as cool as Snake)

So, after playing MGS2, I got really in the mood to read some MGS fic, which I've never done before. So I searched for communities and found an AWESOME one, and I've been reading MGS fics all afternoon, LOL. Don't worry, it won't be my new obsession. Just something fun to read. I might write some MGS fic, but I highly doubt it. Snake's hard to write.

There's a made-for-TV movie coming out on Nickelodeon in...August? September? one of them there Fall-type months, LOL. And it's got Amy Sedaris (and I think Paul Dinello) in it and ZOMG, it looks hilarious! This one guy walked up to this other guy and they were fighting, and the first guy said, "The sight of you makes my butt itch!" I dunno why, but it struck me as really freakin funny, lol.

Um...that's about it. The title of this post is from Two and a Half Men that was on tonight at 9:00. Charlie made a kids songs CD and one of the songs was called, "Bye Bye Boobies." The words? "I drink from a sippie cup cuz I'm a big kid now. Bye bye boobies, bye bye boobies, bye bye boobies, cuz I'm a big kid now." Well, Charlie got hammered and did a live performance where he sang a slightly different version; "I *love* boobies, cuz I'm a big kid now." <3

Design Star was really cooly last night. And one of the people I didn't like went home! :D Yay! And then, on the Next Food Network Star, Jennifer went home, and while I liked her somewhat, I don't think she was quite good enough to be the next Food Network star. And it came down to her and Adam, and I *love* Adam, so I'm glad he didn't go home.

I watched Factory tonight and it was frakkin hilarious. Definitely kinda gross at times (jeez, the beginning was totally fucked up, lol), but yeah, very funny. David and Mitch totally carry the show. I wish it was soley focused on them cuz their friends are somewhat annoying, lol. *shrugs* Oh, well. X]

Yeah, that's about it.

Love y'all - Mira/Doc/Kat *meow*
