Don't Count Your Kittens Before They Hatch
Hello people!

I am so out of it right now. *in zombie-like-state* GRAWR!

I was up kinda late last night, inadvertently. We watched Fringe and it was AMAZING, as usual, and it got me kinda hyper, so I didn't fall asleep til, like, 12:30-ish. Maybe 1:00. We did literally nothing in myth today. It was a work period, so I did my math homework (hehe!) and chatted with Sarah. In math, we got a buncha stuff back and found out what our grades are.

I have a D, but I knew that already. However, if seniors could potentially fail or are failing, teachers have to give their names to guidance so guidance will have a heads up that those seniors will have to take the exam. Unfortunately, Mr. Pagnanelli's kind of an asshole and sent seniors with D's in, too. So now, guidance has this idea that I might fail (which I'm NOT going to do).

I'm a little miffed about that, but I spose if I hadn't dug myself into a D in the first place, it wouldn't have happened, so meh. The good thing is that I have a high D (67), so with a few more big points (which I should get from the notebook test in a few days), I should be able to knock it up to at least a low C. <3 We got some quizzes and old homework back and yeah.

We watched more of The Holy Grail in AP Gov. and found out our grades there, too. I have a D, as well (also 67). Apparentely, I'm missing an assignment that I know I did, but I think I was absent when we turned it in and just forgot to give it to her. So I gotta try to find that tonight. And I never made up that quiz, so I have to do that tomorrow (GUH). That should bring me up a bit.

In AmLit, we watched the beginning of a Charlie Chaplin movie. It wasn't funny. In fact, it was kind of boring. We did a worksheet for that, too, and that took about all of class. Robbins came in twenty minutes late to MindCandy (he's usually at least five minutes late, lol), and then put his stuff down and left to go run errands, so we were pretty much teacher-less all period.

It was kinda fun, but Robbins adds hilarity to class, so meh. I cleaned out my bag and threw away any and all papers I didn't need, which felt SO good. I love doing that. Can't wait to clean out my locker! :] As I left class, I asked Brian to say something funny that I could use for my post tonight, and he said that *points to title*. XD I think it's funny, lol.

I bought some cookies and then mom picked me up and took me with her to Kenneth's so she could get her hair cut and colored. It's a lot brighter now; she got caramel highlights. We were gonna stop at Panera (across the street) and get coffees, but it started pouring out and I didn't wanna have to get out of the car if it wasn't absolutely necessary, so we just went home.

I made myself some hot chocolate and put on sweatpants and my favorite t-shirt and huddled in my super dark room, lol. X] Someone posted one of these videos (scroll down to the playlists) and I LOVED it, so I started watching more and more and now I'm almost done with the entire series. They're so hilarious, guys, you should totally watch them.

TEEHEE! This one is also one of my faves (P.S. I am a proud Marvel). After watching most of those videos, I took a two hour nap. It was splendid. I really need to do that more often. OH HEY! If you guys have a minute, could you please go read celli's latest writing? It's not fandom-related, so any of you can go read it. She would really like some constructive criticism. PLEASE! :]

Few things are better than a hot bowl of mashed potatoes and chicken.

P.S. OMFG YAY MAINE! YAY NEW HAMPSHIRE! GAY MARRIAGE FTW!

That's Your Giant Ass, Which You Obviously Grew
Hello people!

I slept like shit last night (how exactly does shit sleep?). I woke up at 3:30, 4:30, then 5:00-ish and was awake for a good twenty minutes each time. It blew. And then my alarm went off and I got up feeling weird. My stomach hurt really bad. I realized why a few minutes later: the monthly curse arrived today (it's not a fucking gift, so I'm not calling it that). Sometimes I really fucking hate being a girl.

Anywho, the first day of it is usually the most or second-most painful day in the cycle, but I intended to go to school since I came home early yesterday. I got up and drank almost an entire frappucino in ten minutes in an attempt to wake myself up. Nick was feeling sick so dad was gonna let him stay home today. Dad and I chilled together while Nick and mom slept til it was time for me to go.

Okay, so, we're the last stop on my bus route. We told our bus driver that since it's cold all the damn time and she stops in front of our house to pick us up, we're just gonna wait inside and we'll come out when the bus pulls up. She knows to wait for us. Even subs know to wait for us (I guess she tells them?). At least, most of the time they do. The bus was really late today so I figured we had a sub.

It was cold out this morning - and raining - so I stayed inside, waiting for the bus. After fifteen minutes, a bus quickly drove by our house and went down the road without stopping. It was my bus (I saw the number on the side). I had missed my bus because some douche-monger bus driver didn't know to stop. This has NEVER happened in the entire five years we've lived here. I never miss the bus.

So, I was kinda pissed off and dad was slightly annoyed that he'd have to give me a ride to school. Mom got up and came out and said, "Aww, Miranda, you should be prepared for idiots." I guess by that she meant I should have waited outside, lol. And I said, "I've never missed the bus ONCE the whole time we've lived here. And usually subs know to stop for us even though we wait inside."

And then I proceeded to tell mom that I got the curse today and needed more...equipment...and she said, "You should just stay home." And I was like, "I'd love to, I slept terribly and feel like crap." So she went and told dad that I was gonna stay home and he said okay. Sometimes I can't believe just how awesome my parents are, LOL. <3 I went back to my room and tried to sleep but couldn't.

I think my chugging coffee twenty minutes earlier kinda woke me up. So I spent an hour or so downloading really cool apps on my iPod (including a LiveJournal app, as noted in my previous post). I really felt like playing a video game, so I played Splinter Cell. I almost beat the game again. Not that it's anything to brag about since I've done it a hundred times, but ya know, lol.

Mom and dad brought home a DQ Blizzard for me (chocolate ice cream and Snickers! <333) and some DQ food for Nick (it's shockingly fantastic, lol). I came out to the living room and we watched Rules of Engagement, where the title of this post came from. Audrey said it to Jeff about his "(New York) Giant(s) pants." And one of the other characters had a huge fear of bears! :D

We also watched Reaper, which was kinda stupid, but it usually is, lol. I like the show, but it's just not stunning, ya know? OH speaking of stunning! FRINGE WAS FUCKING AMAZING LAST NIGHT. I am loving that show more and more with each episode. It's def in my top ten now. Moving on. I went back to my room and played some more Splinter Cell and then I came out here to write this! XD

I dunno if you guys know this, but (I was told) another word for a graph is a "sinusoid." I thought that sounded like a dinosaur. So I doodled up a ridiculous comic and thought you guys might like it. It's called, "Spanky the Unicorn (a comic)."

The other creature is a horse...he has no name and he's a grouch... )

The end! Hope you guys found that amusing, lol. X]

Hell Is Other People...And Lack of Internet
Hello people!

I slept til 11:00 today. It was wonderful.

I took a shower and then got online and chilled, really. Tyrone worked fine all morning but now he's having some problems. My poor baby! *pets Tyrone* He really confuses me, too. Cuz now, he's working fine. *knock on wood* I don't understand. He'll still prolly have to go see the computer doctor.

Anywho, I made myself a sandwich for lunch (it was delicious) and then mom came home. We cleaned out her car cuz he has to take it back to work tomorrow and return it to her boss. Now we're short a car. *worried look* Hopefully, she'll buy one soon. We've been looking.

We found a shitload of candy in baggies in a box in the garage that mom had bought to put out at vet places a year ago, but it was wrapped stuff (like bubble gum and sweet tarts) so they were in perfect condition. So we had some gum, lol. And I stocked up on candy. WHOOT! :D

We came inside and I checked out my subscriptions on YouTube and saw that Roy Zimmerman uploaded a new song. It ROCKS. It's called, "I Approve This Message." I love it muchly. I think I have to buy his CD, lol. <3 So, then, mom and I made some popcorn and started watching "The Secret of My Success" until dad came home.

Dad's got a new buddy, Jeff, who sits next to him at work. Well, Jeff helped dad bring home some Halloween stuff that wouldn't fit in dad's car, so we got to meet Jeff. He's really nice! And he hugged me when we met, lol. That made me feel special. XD I don't usually get random hugs like that. We chatted for a very short time and then Jeff left. We decided to go out to dinner and stop at that vintage store I mentioned yesterday.

The name of the vintage store is Chaos Theory Vintage (see? isn't that name awesome?). They have SO MUCH cooly stuff. I got three beautiful ties (that cost me $20 freakin bucks! kinda expensive, but still cooly) and this kick-ass coat that's about knee-length (it's a men's coat) that dad bought for me. I wanted a hat, but I ran outta cash, lol. *shrugs* And we checked for cowboy boots for my costume, but they didn't have the right kind.

Then we checked Packrat Comics again and they had the right issue of Spidey, but it was one of the shitty covers (it's got a freakish version of the Green Goblin on it) instead of Stephen and Spidey. Oh, well. But yeah, the geek in me is FLIPPING OUT over how awesome this is, lol.

We stopped in at a video game store and checked out their PS1 games and they had Cool Boarders 3, which I used to love, and Tomb Raider III, which I wanted to buy a few months ago but didn't have the money to. And Nick and I love those games, so yay! XD We're gonna play it later tonight or tomorrow.

We got some chicken fingers for dinner and then came home and that's about it, lol. The title of this post (well, the first part of the title) is something Sartre said. <3 I heard it on Cash Cab. And it's epically true. And the second part (the internet thing) is something I added on. Cuz it's also true. XD And OMG, on Cash Cab yesterday, the answer to one of the questions was shiv! And I knew it from SWC! :D And mom didn't know it! LOL! WIN!

I made a vid last night about Halloween. So...enjoy, lol.

This is Halloween, this is Halloween... )

He's Ancient, He's Ugly, I Dunno Which Is Worse
Hello people!

For the past...I'd guesstimate two weeks...I've ignored my alarm clock and slept an extra 6-10 minutes until dad comes to get me up. Today, he said, "Did you even set your alarm?" I said, "Ngyuh" ("yes"). He said, "Did you get up and turn it off?" and I replied, "Nguhn." ("meh"). I should prolly start actually getting up to it again.

Anywho, photo was fun; we took our developed pictures and put them up on a wall, then people complimented them critiqued them. My pic of Taco (dog) in his stupid little Halloween costume (don't even ask, guys) and my pic of the birdfeeders in our front yard (trust me, it looks cooler than it sounds) got a buncha good compliments! So, yay! Happy me! XD

Math was boring. We did stuff. LOL! That's all you need to know. In AP Gov., we got into our respective groups and discussed how we'd handle the press conference for our candidates come Monday. We decided that we'd address the economy, specifically Obama's tax plans. And then we spent the rest of class watching McCain/Palin adds on their site. They're pretty funny, guys. If you haven't seen 'em, go watch 'em. The "Dr. No" one is the best.

In forensics, we watched a National Geographic special on meth, which was disgusting. It was really gross. But I have little pity for the so-called, "victims" of meth. They all chose to do it. No one forced it on them. Whatever happened to them is their own faults. That sounds mean, but whatever (name that movie). *shrugs*

MindCandy was, by far, the best. We had our party today! I had chips (which I brought in), cake, carrots with ranch dressing, a cookie, a piece of pizza, and some water, not necessarily in that order, lol. It was SO EFFING GOOD. And we watched The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is ALWAYS fantastic. The title is from teh movie, of course; it's party of Oogie Boogie's song that he sings to Santa Claus. I just love that movie. <3

Mom picked me up and we stopped at a comic book store cuz I wanted to get the new Spidey with Stephen in it, but they didn't have it there. Does anyone know when the comic is/was ACTUALLY released? And if you got it, could you tell me where you got yours, please? I'm gonna hunt for it this weekend, if I can. Unfortunately, no comic book stores anywhere in town carry Tek Jansen. I have to get those from Amazon. That's okay.

Ooh, but in the same plaza as the comic book store (Packrat Comics), there was this AWESOME vintage store whose name I can't remember right now, but it was super cool. And I REALLY wanted to go in, but they weren't open yet. They have the WEIRDEST hours. Weekly, it's open 3-7 PM, Saturday, it's open 1-5 PM, and it's closed on Sundays and Mondays. I know, totally obscure. But it looks SO cool, I really wanna go.

So, anywho, we stopped at the store to get some stuff to make Tortilla Soup just like Max & Erma's, and then we went home. Mom made me some delicious hot chocolate cuz it's FREEZING today (WHOOT!). Then she made the tortilla soup and it was SO EFFING GOOD. Holy crap, guys, it's sooooo amazing. I had two bowls, lol. And we finished the first season of "Samantha Who?". I absolutely love that show. Christina Applegate is adorable.

Uh...right, then we picked Nick up from the cafe cuz he chilled with his friend there for a while. When we got home, mom and I had another cup of hot chocolate and watched Cash Cab. Whoot! There's a lotta TV on tonight; Ugly Betty, Kitchen Nightmares, Supernatural (and for mom, Grey's Anatomy and Life on Mars). LOTSA stuff.

Ooh, mom sent me this link to a thing about stupid Americans not being able to answer three simple questions. The biggest reason she sent it to me is cuz they mention the audiences of TDS and TCR! :D HELL YES. Here's the article, if you wanna read it. It's fairly interesting and kinda disheartening at the same time.

I think that's it...oh! I have tomorrow off! I can sleep in, FINALLY! I'm sleeping til 9:00, at least! Yay inservice days! Also, I'm not sure how to carve my pumpkin this year. Last year, I did a Colbert-y kinda thing. So, what should I do this year? Keep in mind, something Colbert-themed is not out of the realm of possibilites. ;] But yeah, suggestions would be appreciated. And what are you guys gonna carve?

I Guess All That Crammin' Really Paid Off...Roight
Hello people!

Sorry for not posting another blog last night; I was super depressed, and I had a lotta work to do tonight, so I couldn't post earlier.

Anywho. Okay, let's address the elephant in the room. The Super Bowl. I stand by my boys and I just think they had a tough night and didn't really come prepared. I, in no way, admit that the Giants are better. Cuz they're not. They got lucky. And I'm not gonna say anything else about this topic.

[H]OUSE was AWESOME last night! Def one of the best eps of the season! And OMG, the preview for Tuesday's ep was so freaking hilarious! "OMG...you're sleeping with me..." said by House to Wilson. SO FUNNY!

Have any of you ever read Cyanide and Happiness web-comics? If not, you really should. They're crude, violent, and inappropriate, but they're SO FUNNY. X] Check it, yo!

And yes, I said, 'check it, yo.' You got a problem with that? TOUGH. ;] I'm drawing up a few of my own Cyanide and Happiness comic strips which I'm considering contributing as part of a guest week, the next time they have one.

Kay, I know there's more for me to say, but I have to go to bed and I don't have time to write any more. I'll write a longer post tomorrow.
