It's Not Easy to Cut Through a Human Head With a Hacksaw
Hello people!

HAPPY BASTILLE DAY (OMG FTW)!!!

Nick and I stayed up til 1:00 last night; he beat MGS2, then played MGS3 and I watched. He only played about half an hour of MGS3, but it was interesting. I have to at least watch the last two games if I wanna get the story, so I'm gonna watch Nick play them. I know I had dreams last night, but I can't remember them. Gah. I got up at 10:30 today and watched Divorce Court.

I did the dishes then went back to the TV for a bit. THEN, Celtic had to be fed and played with, so I did that. Actually, this morning is kinda fuzzy...um, I had turkey, cheese and pickles for lunch. Mom asked me to pack up the armoire (sp?) before she headed out to her 2:00 appointment. I did so, then Nick and dad got home from the grocery store and I was distracted.

Dad got me coffee, then Nick asked if I wanted to watch him play MGS3, which I did. That didn't last long, though, cuz I really had to finish the armoire, so Nick went to his room, dad went to the basement, and I went to the living room. I watched TV while packing, so that was fun. Oh, Nick showed dad deviantART and talked him into creating account, which sent me into a bit of a panic.

As you guys know, I have some not-so-appropriate pics on there - at least, dad would completely judge me and prolly yell at me if he saw the pics I drew. So, I got everything off my old account (colbertobsessed) and created a new one (ClarisseRockford). I'm sure you're wondering why "Clarisse Rockford" - I made an entire fake identity a couple months ago.

It was gonna be for a character who I wanted to develop before developing the story I was gonna put her in, but I decided to use it online, too. If you liked my old deviantART, feel free to check out my new one. I'm still putting up my old drawings, they prolly won't be done til later tonight. Uh, that's about it. Title of this post is an original quote from Michael Crichton, lol. <333

And now, a kitten-spam (and look, that's Nick holding her! :D).

Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow )

Oh, yeah, and this, which is incredibly hot, even if they didn't follow through with the kiss. ;]

They're not brothers in real life, but they play them on TV )

We Managed to Avoid Drowning!
Hello people!

Whoa, I can't believe it's 6:30, I totally lost track of time today! :O

Um, oh, so, I had a dream last night where I went to dinner with my parents. I dunno why, but we took a limo there. We were gonna meet up with my (deceased) Grandpa D. and a friend of his. For some reason, I was hesitant to go inside, so I stayed in the limo for 58 minutes (yes, exactly 58 minutes). When Grandpa D. and his friend pulled up at about 10:00, I decided I'd stay.

I went inside, where teh rents were waiting, and we met up with Grandpa D. and his friend and all sat down at the counter (like a bar, sans alcohol, lol). Apparently, teh rents and I had already eaten dinner, so Grandpa D. and his bud bought us ice cream instead. It was GOOD. Then mom and dad and I were suddenly in a GameStop and I found a Solid Snake action figure.

I grabbed a ton of others – Psycho Mantis, Revolver Ocelot, etc. – and intended to buy them with my own money. Then I found little mini!board-games, which I used to get for holidays all the time. They're adorable!  There was one that said Jeopardy on the front, but the contents included little chess pieces and a chess board, so I put it back. I think other stuff happened, but that's all I remember.

I woke up at 10:30-ish and spent the next half hour on my computer. The day kinda switched off between lazing around and working. I did the dishes and made myself a sandwich. Then I went to my room and played a little MGS2. Nick joined me a bit later and we played our saved game together. We brought some garbage and some crappy boxes outside to the curb and played with the kitten.

"The Lost World" was on after all that, so I watched the last hour of it. I just realized today that the movie is COMPLETELY different from the book. It's like they totally disregarded the book and just wrote a new story. It's actually incredibly lame and depressing, when I think about it. I've spent the past two hours reading "Jurassic Park," "The Lost World" and Michael Crichton trivia on IMDB.

Title of this post is from MGS2. Raiden says it to the Colonel after swimming through a certain area. It just seems hilarious to me, lol. OH! So, Nick stumbled across this broadcast online (on justin.tv, similar to blogtv) where this guy was playing MGS. He talked to the guy and did his Solid Snake impression, and the guy LOVED it. Now Nick sometimes joins in on the broadcast.

He does his Snake impression and joins the convos and such! Here's the thing: if the guy gets more viewers and subscribers and stuff, he's gonna start paying his partners (i.e., Nick). SOOOO, I'm spreading the word about the broadcast. It's on late at night, so if you stay up super late, check it out. Nick's not on every night, but still. If you like whatcha see, pass this link around, please! :]

I decided last night that I'd like to keep a blog that my parents can read while I'm at college, but I don't want it to be this one, for blatantly obvious reasons. I made a new one here on LJ - except it's not a separate account, it's a comm. That way, I don't have to log out every day just to log back in. If you wanna join, you can, but it's just gonna be a PG version of this blog, lol. --> [info]miradoxical.

Um, yeah. Oh, oh, I did two more drawings last night; Liquid/Meryl and Ocelot/Meryl. I don't like the second one very much - Meryl looks kinda off and Ocelot looks wayyyy too young, but oh well. I'm starting my birth control pills tonight. :} I'm kinda nervous; I hope I don't have any of the crappy side-effects, like nausea for the first 1-3 packs...The Next Food Network Star is on tonight! :D WHOOT!

No, She's a Cat, She Doesn't Know What's Going On
Hello people!

I had a really long, complicated dream. I'll try to keep it short. Um, I had a dream that I was sitting outside of the house. The weird thing is that Nick and I were the only people living there...hmm. Anywho, I had my computer with me and I was gonna spend the afternoon writing. The skies were dark gray and I loved that environment. This really annoying girl I know in RL knocked on the front door.

She couldn't see me, since I was on the side of the house, but I could see her. I ran to the back door to get in the front door to lock it so RL girl would go away, but the back door was locked, so I couldn't get back in the house. Then it started pouring down rain. I ran to my computer and protected it from the rain as I went in the front door. RL girl took it upon herself to go ahead and go inside.

Nick was in the kitchen, and RL girl and a friend were in the living room, watching a horror movie. RL girl said, "Oh, hey, wanna watch the movie with us? We're almost done." I remember being super pissed off, then I woke up. Then I fell back asleep and had a dream about some minor celebrity, though I don't recall who, who was really cute and nice and flirting with me. We were gonna go out...

Then I woke up. Yeah. I actually had more stuff happening, but I don't remember it all. I knew I should've written it all down this morning. Shit. Anyway, um, dad got me up at 11:00 this morning. I watched Judge Karen and fed the kitten before getting to packing glasses and bowls and vases around noon. I packed til about 3:00, when Nick asked for my help packing the coat closet.

I helped him (aka, I did it for him) til dad got home from the store at 4:00. Nick has actually been very nice and funny today, and we had a great time hanging out. He and I even talked about his hair (how I think he'd look better with short hair and he's actually considering it! :D) and his clothes (how he likes to dress a certain way, but that his clothes don't define him...which is deep, for him).

It was really great to talk to him like that. He also mentioned off-handedly that he thinks Megan Fox is gorgeous and that she's his desktop background. At least he has good taste? I think Fox is gorgeous as well, lol. Nick made it known to mom and dad that he and I are getting the FOX-HOUND logo as a tattoo for his birthday (that's right, I get a tat for Nick's b-day, lol <3). I'm stoked! :]

I dunno if I explained this before, but Nick and I both want that as a tattoo cuz it's from Metal Gear Solid, which we not only both love intensely, but we bond over the first and second game, too, so it's very important to us. Nick brought up my going to college and how he's gonna miss me, and I said he wouldn't have to worry cuz I'll be stopping by all the time. Sometimes, he really is a great bro. <3

Moving on, I drew a couple more doodles earlier and put 'em up on deviantART. [1] Best Friends (Hal and Dave), [2] Boys in Love (Hal and Dave), and [3] my artist logo. Mom, dad and I got into a little tiff, yet again, about packing and now I'm in my room. They might be giving a friend of mom's a ride to Pataskala, which is way far away, so hopefully Nick and I will have a little parent-less downtime.

Um, yeah, that's about it. Title of this post is just something dad said about Celtic. I don't know the context, but I think it's more amusing sans context anyway. I'm gonna try to draw some more tonight, but I dunno if I can pull off anything good (or original, lol). I shall try, though. Speaking of creative expression, I really should write. Hmm. Maybe I'll do that instead...

That Led Him to a Painful Decision: Hitler or Pancakes?
Hello people!

For the first time ever, I, Miranda Doerfler, beat Metal Gear Solid on normal ALL BY MYSELF. I've been having a "nerdgasm," if you will, since I did so last night. I even made a short video documenting it, lol, cuz I was so excited.

Ahem. I stayed up last night reading awesomely adorable MGS comics from this woman right hurr. I also attempted to draw my own Solid Snake and Hal (Otacon) & Dave (Snake) doodles, using that woman's technique. And I think I did a decent job, considering that I usually suck at drawing, lol. I put them up on my deviantART account. Here's Solid Snake and here's Hal & Dave.

I got up at 10:00 today to mom asking me to pack some stuff for her while she's at work. I watched some Divorce Court and drew those doodles til mom left, then started packing around noon. Dad was out in the garage packing stuff there. I spent the afternoon packing kitchen stuff (mugs, plates, etc.) and watching TV. It actually wasn't terrible, I don't mind packing when it's a calm process.

Dad came in around 2:00 and made me some late lunch of chicken fingers (they weren't very good...) and we watched Sabrina together, which the title of this post is from. Then he went back to work in the garage, and I went back to packing. I stopped around 5:00 and, well, here we are. I'm so ridiculously tired, I could go to bed right now. Um...yeah, that's pretty much it. Happy Thursday.

Come Over to the Dark Side; We Has Cheezburgers
Hello people!

Today was fun but also...I dunno...weird? I'm in this incredibly odd mood. I'm not angry or sad, I just feel...kinda depressed. I don't know.

I had a dream last night, but the only thing I remember is that this guy worked with his best friend at a movie company. The BFF got the guy the job, even though the guy doesn't really know what he's doing. Um. Yeah, something happened, but I don't recall what. *shrugs* I woke up around eleven, of course. Got online for a bit, said hi to mom and dad, and started my day with a root beer float. X]

Mom and I decided that I would accept Green Mountain's offer now, rather than waiting to hear from NYU or Amherst. I don't really wanna go to Amherst (and kinda never did), and I hear that NYU is big on rejections. I'm really actually more than happy with going to Green Mountain. We looked at them more last night and this morning and they seem really amazing and totally awesome. I'm excited to go there.

Around 1:00, we went to Easton, which is this huge, sprawling, outside-mall. It was REALLY fun. We stopped at Hot Topic and I got: a Dexter t-shirt (!!!), a Kingdom Hearts t-shirt, and a LOLcat t-shirt! :D I wanted to get a Coraline t-shirt and a Charlie the Unicorn t-shirt, but they were $20 each and I don't have that kind of money, lol! X] We also got Nick a God of War II t-shirt and an MGS4 t-shirt. LOVE that store. <3

Then we went to Barnes&Noble and I bought myself Dearly Devoted Dexter (the books actually came before the show) and John Green's An Abundance of Katherines. I was afraid I wouldn't like John's work because while he's a HILARIOUS vlogger on YouTube, his books are more teen reading and I don't usually go for that sort of thing, but hot damn, this book is pretty funny so far. I really like it!

I also got a cute tote bag that's one of those save/reuse bags, ya know? It's green and it's got a tree on it, but instead of leaves, the tree's growing books! :D So adorable. Then we went to Olive Garden for dinner (around 5:00). That was delicious, of course. We got the ushe and I got a piece of my black tie mousse cake to go. Then mom stopped by Dress Barn for work clothes and I went to GameStop.

I wanted to see if they had the new Sims2: Apartment Life game for PC cuz I saw it and thought it looked awesome. They had it, but it says, "EXPANSION PACK" on the front, and I don't remember the original I saw saying that. I bought it, but now I'm really worried it's not the right one. Oh, well. If it's an expansion pack, I have a basic Sims game for it to go with, anyway. *shrugs*

We stopped at Michael's after that and I got an awesome print of Van Gogh's Starry Night. I really love it, it's def one of my all-time favorite paintings. Then we stopped at Blockbuster and picked up the second DVD of the first season of Dexter, cuz I haven't seen those eps. YAY! Then we came home. I kinda burst into tears on the way, though, and I still don't know why. Like I said, I'm not upset.

I have no reason to be, I got a ton of amazing stuff today! I really don't understand myself at all sometimes, lol. But yeah, now we're home and I gotta write up another article for work. Oh, everyone's doing that damn pick three men: marry, fuck, throw off a cliff meme, so I figure I should do it, too, lol. Shoebox gave me Kiefer Sutherland, Jon Stewart, and Robert Downey Jr.

You know the rules and so do I )

Mmm. Delicious men. <3 UM. Oh, title of this post is from my LOLcat t-shirt! XD I'll have to take pics at some point...eventually, lol. When I'm not feeling so utterly lazy. I'm gonna go eat my cake and watch 24. I never did that homework so it's either tonight or tomorrow that I gotta get 'em done, and Jon/Stephen will be saved for tomorrow, as I'm so not in the mood to laugh right now. Uh, yeah.

Love y'all - Mira/Doc/Kat *meow*

P.S. I know some of you are Zachary Quinto fans (Sylar from Heroes). I wanted to tell you incase you didn't know, Zachary played Adam in season 3 of 24 as a computer analyst - one of the best. I have been informed that he lives through the entire season! :D (I obviously don't remember much of season 3, it's not one of my faves, lol) I must admit, I'm not really a fan of his, but I think he looks pretty good on 24...

EDIT: OH JEEZ. I forgot! I finished my MindCandy final project last night!

Video and lyrics under the cut! :] )

You Got the Blue Man Group In Your Pants!
Hello people!

Hmm. Today was kinda weird. Not bad, just...off-ish.

I woke up at 10:55, but I had a couple of dreams last night. I dunno if any of you watched Charmed when it was on, but there was a power one of the sisters (and the Whitelighters) had where you can orb, which means you can disappear in a shimmering cloud of blue-ish lights and reappear somewhere else. Or, in Paige's case (Paige was one of the sisters), you can transport objects in the same way.

So, in my dream, I could orb and transport things via orbing. My bro was yelling for me to get the vaccum and vaccum my room, and I yelled back, "I'LL JUST ORB IT IN!" and Nick said, "You can't do that!" So I proved him wrong and orbed the vaccum into my room. Apparently, it was the first time I'd ever done that, cuz I was like, "HOLY SHIT IT WORKED." So I started orbing a ton of random stuff.

Then there was something with porn and orbing that I don't really remember, lol...um, then I was suddenly in a mall with mom. It was HUGE, but there were only two floors. The top floor was for regular shoppers, the bottom floor was for businessmen. I asked mom why the floors were for separate shoppers and she explained it, but I don't recall what she said. The food court was downstairs, so we went to get lunch.

There was only one place, and it was a hot dog/burger booth. Mom and I both got a hot dog and french fries...and, uh, there was something else, but I dunno what. The lady gave me my hot dog but forgot my fries, so I was like, "Um, wait, my fries." And she was like, "OMG I SORRY." and spent, like, twenty minutes making me a new batch of fries. *shrugs* Mom and I took our food and left.

We went to a bus in the parking lot that was a school bus, but it was public transportation. There were mini!tables that folded out from the sides of the bus, down onto each seat. Mom and I were trying to eat on the bus, but these girls would not get out of our seat and we couldn't fit in the one seat, so I moved across the aisle to an open seat where I set up my food and tried to bring mom over.

For some reason, I couldn't get mom over to my seat. We were on our way to see some movie at the movie theater I've visited a couple of times in my dreams. We never made it, though. Then, I was in my room, um, looking at the music on my computer. I was getting pissed off cuz I realized I'd been listening to the same 15 songs over and over again. So I tried to find something else to listen to, but there wasn't anything.

Then I woke up. *shakes head* My dreams are weird and random. Anywho, when I woke up, I got on my computer for a minute. Dad took Nick to get his hair cut and I did the dishes. Then I took a shower and spent a couple hours editing my profile (not too many differences, but it's more concise, methinks...) and making a BITCHIN new collage and desktop! :D CHECK IT OUT! <3

Oh, hehe, something I think should be mentioned: I showed mom my new desktop and she was like, "Ooh, that's really cool!" and I said, "Can you name everyone?" (cuz she knows all the guys on it) and she did, til she got to the Petrelli bros (Adrian and Milo) and said, "Two gay guys." And I started laughing and was like, "Uh, actually, those are the Petrelli brothers from Heroes." And she was like, "...oh." XD

Anywho. That's pretty much all I did today, lol. I listened to Sims music for a few hours. <3 Oh, I played a little Splinter Cell, too. A-yup. Okay, guys, something's coming up tonight that I need your help with if you have a Twitter. Remember yesterday when I said I wanted to get a shirt made that said, "RT @stephencolbert I have twatted."? Well, I asked the guy who would make it exactly how much it would cost.

He said $20, unless I can get Stephen to mention it, then it's free. I thought that would be awesome, but obviously, I have no idea how I could get Stephen to mention it, lol. So I told him that I didn't know how and I don't have $20 at the moment, but I'd buy the shirt when I finally did get $20. He made me a deal: if I can get 20 people to re-tweet a pic of the shirt (which isn't up yet), he'll give it to me for free. :D

SO, I'm gonna make another post after this one, once the pic is up, and I need you guys to tweet whatever message I post, please, if you can! Perhaps I can get a bunch of these shirts made once I get some cash and send 'em out to those of you flisters that have Twitters! :D That would be super awesome, wouldn't it?! GAH. Getting ahead of myself here, lol. Ahem. Anywho! Yeah.

Title of this post is from Reaper, which I actually have yet to watch, but teh rents are watching it and I can hear it, and I heard that and thought it was hilarious, lol. OH SPEAKING OF HILARIOUS. You guys know I love Toby Turner, and he posted an awesome vid of outtakes and it's so freaking funny. I keep watching it over and over, lol. So, ENJOY!

Burn It! Burn That Damn Painting! Burn It!
Hello people!

Ahh, Monk and Psych. What a great way to finish off a great day. Yay! :D

Monk was hilarious. He tried to paint/draw as a hobby, but since he's so INSANELY OCD, he kept doing straight lines and perfect circles and whatnot. It was so wondifferous, lol. And he did a painting called, "Snowman," which I thought was actually pretty awesome. It was three blue circles with black outlines and two black dots in each. It was so contemporary-cooly. I want that one, lol! :D

Psych was awesome, as usual, lol. Lassie hired Shawn to investigate the murder of a cult leader guy, but didn't want anyone to know about it, and it was hilarious when he staked out Shawn and was only, like, 10 feet away. XD So very Lassie. And there were some great Shawn/Gus lines, but I can't remember any of them right now, LOL. Jeez, my memory sucks.

Kay, I'm watchin the news, and one of their stories is about this guy that basically raped three high school boys, and the guy turned himself in, then ran away to Mexico. That seems, well, retarded to me, lol. Why the hell would you turn yourself in...and then run away? Didja get bored or something? Always wanted to go to Mexico? Well, now we can't chase him cuz of the crazy Mexican rules. I say someone should hire a hitman and get him to whack the guy in Mexico and make sure not to get caught, lol. That way, problem solved without a huge legal mess. XD Yes, I'm an idiot that thinks about these things.

Okay, I'm tired. I think I'm gonna go to bed soon. Uncle Mike's comin over tomorrow (*ugh*), but my mom and I are goin out to the book store and we're gonna shop a bit. Til about 3 in the noon of after. I guess that's good enough. But I also have to watch The Colbert Report and A Daily Show that I have recorded (from TWO WEEKS AGO) and it's gonna take me a long time and I don't wanna hang around my uncle, who I KNOW is gonna chill in the living room, which is where the DVR is. *sigh* Oh, well, I spose. I'll have to come up with a solution.

I HATE Groundhog's Day. It's the dumbest thing ever. Whether that damn groundhog sees his goddamn shadow or not, we STILL HAVE six more weeks of winter! WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE SIX MORE FUCKING WEEKS OF WINTER! A groundhog can't change the CALENDAR! Plus, HE'S ALWAYS GONNA SEE HIS SHADOW! They've got TONS of camera crews with HUGE LIGHTS all around the damn groundhog! DUH! *shakes head* I really hate stupid people.

Sorry bout the anger, lol, but stupid people annoy me very much. Kay, yeah, I'm off to bed now.

Love y'all - Mira/Doc/Kat *meow*
